Why do people unconsciously cover their face while sleeping?

This seems very simple...Just a normal sleeping position..Isn’t it??.well...there could be much to think over this.

 

However, there are obvious reasons also that they do it to block the noise and light or to keep the head warm (specifically in winters) or maybe they are used to it-a habit.

Covering Face unconsciously while sleeping, according to many psychologists is could be due to several considering issues :

• To feel secure and isolated :

 A person who hides his face might unconsciously believe that they are escaping from their fears.Fear of the unknown, fear of the ghost, future insecurity can cause such a habit.

 

• Maybe its paranoia :

The feeling of being "watched" while sleeping or thinking that people are out to get you, so escape from that fear they get into this habit.

 

• Lack of courage:

This sleeping style is a evidence of personality traits such as cowardliness. A person who is covering head with a sheet might be is escaping or is too afraid to face problems of life. It can also show a fear of problems and an unwillingness to face them.

 

• May it is Nyctophobia:

Yes, you got it correct it could be fear of darkness or night.The person in such a case wants to hide from his phobia or at least his subconscious mind thinks that by covering his head he can hide.
