Things you can do to Beat the Heat..!!

Dhoop main mat niklo - the *COOL* advice I once got...But to survive one has to leave the house n you can’t primarily rely on DermiCool there... :)

 

You obviously cannot keep calm when the mercury is touching such soaring heights.  45 degrees, 46 degrees, 47 degrees…apparently, the sun has no mercy in summers.

With this increase in temperature, Some of the most common ailments we face at such high temperatures include dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat cramp, skin diseases, heat (or sun) strokes and water-borne diseases like diarrhea. Here are some good pointers which will help you survive the heat:

 

  • Carry a bottle of water wherever you go.

 

  • Drink lots n lots of Water will keep your body hydrated to maintain Electrolyte balance and will eventually save you from Heatstroke.

 

  • Hydrate yourself with watery fruits, fresh fruit juices n salads, coconut water and the like during the peak heat hours.

 

  • Eat cold things -you get a free pass to eat them.

 

  • Always cover your body n face whenever exposing to the sun.

 

  • Never forget to apply sunscreen not less than SPF20 (Sun Protection Factor).

 

  • Choose for cool loose cotton fabric for summer.  

 

  • Go for Light colors over Dark color.

 

  • Protect yourself with Shades, caps, and umbrellas.

 

  • Don't venture out between 1 pm and 4 pm.

 

  • Avoid street food and drinking water from public portals just to maintain hygiene health.

 

  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol as they facilitate dehydration.

 

  • Soak your feet in ice/cold water for 15 to 20 minutes right before you sleep. The coolness will transfer to your body, instantly bringing your body temperature down making you feel cooler. In this case, it even saves electricity!!.
